Climate

Malaysias climate is equatorial and characterised by the annual southwest (April to October) and northeast (October to February) monsoons. The temperature is moderated by the presence of the surrounding oceans. Humidity is usually high, and the average annual rainfall is 250 cm (98 in). The climates of the Peninsula and the East differ, as the climate on the peninsula is directly affected by wind from the mainland, as opposed to the more maritime weather of the East.

Money, Money, Money

Currency

The currency of Malaysia is Ringgit. Check out the currency converter to find out about current exchange rates.

Accommodation

Depending on where you are staying prices will vary of course. Expect to be paying around 20€ per person per night for a middle class hotel.

Cash

Even though credit cards are accepted many times like in malls, car rental, hotels etc, withdrawing cash is still recommended. At markets, streetfood stalls and small stores you will need cash. How much you will need of course depends on your spending habits. Retrospective I found I needed around 20€ per day. This includes food, transportation, activities and souvenirs.
