The biggest airport in Hungary is Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD). Hungary has its own budget airline connecting Budapest to many cities mainly in Europe. The airport bus will bring you to the city center. It’s also easy to travel to Hungary from neighboring countries using a bus or train.

How to get around?

As the largest city of the country, Budapest has a Metro. It will take you anywhere you need to go. Smaller towns are served by public buses, but are usually small enough to just walk where you need to go.

How to get from town to town?

Money, Money, Money

Currency

The currency of Hungary is Forint. Check out the currency converter to find out about current exchange rates.

Accommodation

Depending on where you are staying prices will vary of course. Expect to be paying around 25€ per person per night.

Cash

Upon entering Poland, you will have to withdraw Forint at an ATM. At some touristy places they might accept Euro, but you will end up paying more than if you would use Forint. How much you will need of course depends on your spending habits. Retrospective I found I needed around 35€ per day. This includes food, transportation, activities and souvenirs.
