General Information
The Czech Republic or Czechia is located in Central Europe bordering Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria. Its capital and largest city is Prague. The Czech Republic is both a member of the European Union and the Schengen Agreement. They drive on the right side of the road.

Climate
The Czech Republic has a temperate continental climate, with warm summers and cold, cloudy and snowy winters. The temperature difference between summer and winter is relatively high, due to the landlocked geographical position. The coldest month is usually January, followed by February and December. During these months, there is usually snow in the mountains and sometimes in the major cities and lowlands. The warmest month of the year is July, followed by August and June. Summer is the time of the year with the most precipitation.

How to get there?
The biggest airport in Czechia is Prague Airport (PRG). It’s well served within Europe. However, you might have a hard time flying directly to Prague from outside of Europe. The closest bigger airports would be Vienna International Airport (VIE) in Austria or Munich Airport (MUC) in Germany. Both are around 3:50h from Prague.
The most convenient way to get to the Czech Republic would be by bus or train from any neighboring country.
How to get around?
Even within the largest city Prague it is easy to reach places of interest on foot. Prague has a Metro, trams and buses operating in the city.
Money, Money, Money
Currency
The currency of the Czech Republic is the Koruna. Check out the currency converter to find out about current exchange rates.
Accommodation
Depending on where you are staying prices will vary of course. Expect to be paying around 40€ per person per night.
Cash
Even though credit cards are widely accepted, you should still withdraw Koruna at an ATM. Cash is still king in many places like restaurants, markets and small shops. How much you will need of course depends on your spending habits. Expect to need around 35€ per day for food, transportation, activities and souvenirs. Some places might accept Euro, but you will end up paying more than if you had used Koruna.
